Project Description

As the project general contractor, Beaver Excavating’s main scope of work was to install a granular weighted filter berm designed to improve the safety of the existing Lake White dam system. Under contract with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Beaver’s work items included installation of a spillway crossing, placement of 20,000 combined cy of type A and B riprap, installation of 3,000 lf. of 24″ dia. perforated drain, flume, and manhole structures, and pool level management of the 400-acre lake.

Placement of the granular filter berm system consisted of a combined 117,000 cy of natural sand, No.8 natural gravel, and No.2 coarse aggregate for the layered berm construction along with the type A and B riprap installation.
